Daughter of a father singer and a mother dancer, she did not miss the opportunity for private piano lessons and ballet classes. At the age of four, she started dance school, at six she began taking piano lessons and at seven she entered Henri and Marie choir in French Guiana.
Coming from South America and having for inspiration the like of Stevie Wonder, José Féliciano, Sade, Célia Cruz, Gilberto Gil, Tito Puente, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Police, Phil Collins… her music is for everyone's taste.
At eighteen, after experiencing several stage performances, dance shows, fashion shows and flirting with being a lead and backing vocalist in Guiana and Surinam, it's in Paris that she starts to realise a dream within the music business, performing in prestigious venues, The Olympia and Théâtre des Champs Elysées. She started a world tour and signed an exclusive contract with Sony Music Columbia. She's just nineteen.
After three years spent between Italy and Paris, with trips to countries like Réunion Island, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guiana she does fashion shows, 'piano bar', recording studios, TV shows and concerts with Gilda Rey, Dany Play, Edith Lefel, Carlos, Pow-Wow, Joëlle Ursull. At twenty two, she moved London with two singles which were number 1 in her country.
Within the first month of her arrival in London, she met a producer - with whom she recorded two singles and perform a United Kingdom tour, doing promotion in clubs and press for these two singles - at a famous "Open Mike" bar in Camden Town. The first single topped the "National Charts". A video was shot in Los Angeles and Las Vegas for her second single. It went straight to number 1 in the "Dance Chart" on the English national TV channel: "ITV".
After three years in London, Kédji started composing and worked with another label. She also discovered the excitement of "Life gigs" in London, where she performed at venues such as "10 Room", "Café Royale", "Café de Paris" and the "Hard Rock Café"with Jazz/Blues/Latin/Caribbean musicians. She continued dancing and she eventually won first place in two latin dance championships in London.
While teaching dance classes at "Pineaple", "Danceworks", in sport centers, primary and secondary schools, she continued writing and recording new tracks.
The last single is released in London in 2003 and 'Keep on running' is well appreciated in the London "Underground" scène. It's a "dark" garage and dance mix. - Available on : www.myspace.com/kggolden
French Guianese Jazz singer KG Golden (born Klodya Garros) was first recognized in the music industry by featuring in the album project Konexyon, which gave her 2 number one hits in her native country.
She then moved to London and recorded three singles; The first single topped the "National Charts". A video was shot in Los Angeles and Las Vegas for her second single which went straight to number 1 in the "Dance Chart" on the English national TV channel: "ITV". The third single is a guaranteed success and top the Underground Chart for several weeks.
In June 2007, KG was nominated at "LINDORS" the guianese music awards for her solo album 'Kedji'.
KG is now part of the London hottest's Jazz band Virtual Jazz Band founded by Wayne Brown for VME and will be performing at the Jazz Cafe in London Camden Town on April 15th.
